Before you book
The questions women actually ask.
How accurate is the 3D imaging?
VECTRA-style 3D systems are positioned by their makers as offering up to roughly 98% size/shape measurement accuracy, and ASPS has called 3D imaging "the gold standard" for previewing outcomes. It's a genuinely useful guide — but it's still a simulation, not a guarantee, and results vary based on your own anatomy, tissue and healing.
Is the free 3D consult really free, with no obligation?
Yes. There's no charge for the 3D imaging session, the review, or the surgeon Q&A, and no obligation to book surgery or discuss financing that day. Pricing only comes up if and when you choose to move forward.
Will my results look exactly like the 3D simulation?
No — and we'd rather be upfront about that than let the technology overpromise. The 3D preview is a simulation, not a guarantee; your actual result depends on your anatomy, skin, tissue, healing and your surgeon's judgment in the room. Think of it as an informed starting point, not a contract.
What technology do you use?
Where offered, AXIS uses VECTRA/Crisalix-style 3D imaging to simulate different sizes, shapes and profiles on your own body in real time. (Confirmed per practice — some locations may use an equivalent 3D system; we're always upfront about exactly which one.)
Do I have to decide on a size the same day?
Not at all. Many women preview several options and take time to think it over. There's no pressure to choose on the spot — the whole point of the free 3D consult is to remove the guesswork, not rush the decision.
Are breast implants safe? What about BIA-ALCL?
Implants are FDA-cleared medical devices, and augmentation is real surgery. Honestly: implants are not lifetime devices and may need monitoring or future revision, and there are real risks — capsular contracture, rupture or deflation, reoperation, and the rare BIA-ALCL (a lymphoma tied to certain textured implants). No implant is "risk-free," and every risk is discussed openly at your consult.
Can I breastfeed after augmentation?
Many women can, though incision and technique can affect it. It's discussed candidly at consult, and if you plan to have children soon, that's part of the timing conversation — often it's best to wait until you've finished nursing and your breasts have settled before augmenting.
Is it surgery? How much downtime, and is it safe?
Yes — it's real surgery under anesthesia in an accredited facility by a board-certified surgeon, not a walk-in procedure. Because it's a single region, recovery is generally lighter: many are back to desk work in about a week, with a gradual return over several weeks. Timelines are typical ranges and individual, never guaranteed.
What does it actually cost, and is there financing?
We intentionally don't lead with a number — the free 3D consult comes first. If you choose to move forward, your surgeon quotes one all-inclusive plan in writing, and financing (soft check, no credit impact) is explained clearly at that point. Nothing is charged or financed on your 3D consult visit.
Is breast reduction covered by insurance?
Reduction for comfort is a different path from cosmetic augmentation. When large breasts cause documented back, neck or shoulder pain, a reduction may be covered when medically necessary — but coverage depends on your plan and criteria, so it has to be verified, never promised. This page is our 3D try-on / augmentation page; mention it at your consult and we'll point you to the right path.
How do I know if I'm a candidate?
The 60-second check gives you a first read and reserves your free 3D consult. Your candidacy, options and timing are confirmed by a board-certified surgeon in person. If it's not the right time yet, we'll say so.
