Considered Questions
The questions women actually ask.
What exactly is the free 3D imaging?
It’s VECTRA and Crisalix 3D imaging — technology that projects different implant sizes, shapes and profiles onto a scan of your own body, so you can compare them side by side in real time. ASPS has referred to this category of imaging as a “gold standard,” with manufacturer-reported size-and-shape accuracy around 98%. It is offered free, with no obligation, at your consultation.
Is the 3D preview a guarantee of how I’ll actually look?
No. It is a simulation, not a guarantee — a genuinely useful visual aid for comparing sizes and profiles, not a promise of your surgical outcome. Skin, tissue, healing and anatomy are individual, and Dr. Marchand confirms candidacy and expectations honestly at your in-person exam.
Does the free consult really cost nothing?
Yes. The consultation, the candidacy exam and the 3D imaging session are complimentary and carry no obligation. Pricing and financing are only discussed afterward, and only if and when you decide to move forward.
How do I prepare for a 3D imaging session?
Nothing special is required. Wear whatever you’re comfortable in; the imaging is done privately, respectfully, and explained step by step. Most women find the whole visit takes about 20–30 minutes.
Will it look natural, or “done”?
That is central to the philosophy here. Dr. Marchand plans to your frame and proportions rather than to a trend, and the 3D preview itself often talks a patient into a more modest size than she first imagined. The aim is fuller and unmistakably still you. Individual results vary.
Are breast implants safe — and do they last forever?
They are FDA-cleared medical devices with a strong safety record, but they are not lifetime devices — they may need monitoring and eventual revision or exchange. Real risks, including capsular contracture, rupture, and the rare BIA-ALCL linked to certain textured implants, are discussed openly. Honesty about this is part of doing it well.
Can I breastfeed after augmentation?
Many women can, though it isn’t guaranteed for anyone, with or without surgery. If future breastfeeding matters to you, say so — it informs the technique and incision, and it’s discussed candidly as part of your plan.
Implants, or my own fat?
Both are real options, and both can be previewed in your 3D session. Implants give a reliable, chosen volume; fat transfer gives a more modest, natural increase — roughly a cup — using liposuction, though some fat can reabsorb. Which suits you depends on your frame and goal, decided together.
How much recovery are we really talking about?
Augmentation is a single-region procedure, and for most women recovery is more manageable than expected — many are back to light desk work in around a week, with gentle activity over the following weeks. It’s still real surgery with real anaesthesia and risk; timelines are typical ranges, individual, and never guaranteed.
What if I want a lift, a reduction, or my implants removed instead?
Then this may not be your page — and that’s useful to know. A lift restores position (a bigger implant won’t, though 3D imaging can still preview it with or without an implant); a reduction for comfort may be insurance-covered and follows a different path; removal is a valid, personal choice heard without pressure. The free 60-second check points you to the right one.
